Whatever, I Use Dandruff Shampoo

As someone who has had some level of dandruff (or seborrheic dermatitis, if you wanna get clinical) for most of my life, I am pretty seasoned in the world of anti-dandruff shampoos.

However, I was not willing to accept this until around the age of 25 when I finally buckled down and purchased my first bottle of medicated shampoo, and boy, am I glad I did.

When I was younger, I totally had an itchy scalp all the time! It was embarrassing and hella uncomfortable. But I never wanted to admit to myself (or other people who might happen upon my shower) that I was a person who could benefit from anti-dandruff shampoo. I mean, Head & Shoulders is just so Head & Shoulders...ya know?

But guess what? It fucking works.

Once I surrendered to the fact that I had an almost-chronic flaky, itchy scalp, I was able to take care of the problem once and for all.

Luckily, there are plenty of shampoos that are designed specifically for treating dandruff, and the best part is: they actually work.

A few of my fav dandruff shampoos, other than the OG, Head & Shoulders, are:

  • The more serious & sophisticated Nizoral
  • The simple, yet wallet-friendly Clear Shampoo
  • Honeydew for Kids (good for grownups too!)
  • Selsun Blue: looks like motor oil, acts like shampoo

A flaky scalp is nothing to be ashamed of, especially when there are so many bomb shampoo options for treating it. Anti-dandruff shampoo can clear up an itchy, dry scalp after a single use, and I swear it makes your hair grow faster. A healthy scalp will grow healthy hair, right?

It’s time to reclaim anti-dandruff shampoos and get down with their flake-free magic.
